My Journey to Finding the Best CC Cream

There are a ton of BB and CC creams on the market right now. Maybe one day we will have face creams with every letter of the alphabet. But to me, they are a perfect mix between a light tinted moisturizer and wearing foundation.
My hunt for the best BB or CC cream started well over a year ago. By now, I have tried all of the creams from my local drugstore and the higher end creams from Sephora. After a year, I have finally found one that I love and felt compelled to share my new obsession. I will probably be banned from Sephora soon for exchanging so many slightly used products, so I am thrilled to have finally found “the one.”
So here it is – my latest beauty obsession
Lise Watier – CC Cream Colour Corrector Multi-Perfecting Moisturizer
Sounds like it does a lot, eh? Well it actually does! This CC cream has self-adjusting pigments to correct the appearance of your skin and even out your skin tone. It’s super lightweight and protects you against harmful UVB rays with an SPF 25. The cream is also enriched with platinum, which helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines.
Too good to be true?
I usually like to read other reviews before buying new products. But I went into my local Shopper’s Drugmart and asked to be directed to the best BB/CC cream. This CC cream is super new on the market so there aren’t many reviews on it yet. But I decided to put my trust into the girl helping me and purchase this new cream.
First off, I absolutely love the look and feel of this cream. The Fair shade was a perfect match for my skin tone and for once didn’t make me look paler than I already am. It blends really well and is also buildable for the areas that need a little extra something. But the cream is not heavy at all and doesn’t look like I’m wearing foundation. It does give me a bit of a glow, which I usually hate because my face gets so oily. However, it looks natural and doesn’t create an unwanted shine. I also finally gave in and bought a Foundation Brush and it really helps the cream to go on nicely.
For me, this is definitely perfect for the summer as it’s lightweight, wont clog pores, and has sufficient SPF protection. Better yet, I don’t have to worry about my face looking like it’s melting when I’m out in the sun and can rock a more au natural look.
I never thought I needed a CC cream as I don’t really have any dark spots, but it does help even out my skin tone and hide some of my blemishes. It even helps cover a bit of my dark under eye circles, which is shocking to say the least. During my morning routine, I end up needing to use less spot concealer to cover the redness on my nose and the rest of my dark circles. What I love best is that this actually saves me time in the morning since it does such a good job, and I don’t have to worry all day about caking! (Note – I’m not even being sponsored by this brand to post this I am literally just so happy to find something that doesn’t make me look like a birthday cake by the end of the day).
I still do need to rely on my Oil Absorbing Sheets by the middle of the day, but I don’t expect any product to cure all my woes. If you suffer with oily or combination skin too, be sure to check out my previous post on the best products for oily skin.
Other Top Face Cream Contenders
I loved how this product went on and the little extra glow and shimmer it gave my face. It looked very natural, like I had no makeup on, and didn’t turn cakey by the end of the day. But for me, I just needed a little more coverage than it had to offer. If you don’t have blemishes or other things you want to cover, than this may be a great option for you. It would probably make a great primer if you do use foundation and want to smooth out your skin tone first. But if like me, you rely only on your BB cream, then it may not have enough coverage.
This product was recommended to me and I have heard and read some very good reviews. Sadly, it just didn’t work out between us. It offered more coverage for me, had a nice texture and the colour matched well with my skin tone. But by mid-day I started to see my face go cakey and was not happy. I think my face is a bit too oily for this product which caused it to start coming right off my face. Smashbox has a few other BB creams which I haven’t tried (yet) and do offer a water-based BB cream that may be suited towards certain skin types. I am also obsessed with their BB Eye Cream – the best thing I have found yet to cover my dark circles!
I’d love to hear your comments below on which creams you are obsessed with!
